Holiday Essence is Upon Us

'Tis the season, as we say... time to gather together to celebrate life in all its abundance and to share the abundance with others around us.

Saturday, December 10th is the date we've chosen to host our new store Grand Opening and combine this with Christmas cheer. We have door prizes to give away, last minute shopping specials and of course, delectable edibles.

We will be open from noon - 5pm, so no one is rushed for a 10am start.

Along with the wish of your wonderful company, our wish is to share with others less fortunate. We ask you to bring a non-perishable food item for the Calgary Food Bank as well as any old blankets and towels for the Calgary Humane Society. Let's enjoy living in a community that includes everyone.

Celebrating Our Bead Community

Beading is not just about shopping and buying beads. It extends well beyond into discovering new friendships and ultimately, building a community.

At B-dekk, we fully encourage and contribute to the foundation of our beading community. Perhaps, through this News & Escapades blog, we can go even further and connect with beaders and jewellery designers across the country and far beyond. Let's share ideas and enthusiasm and see what comes of it :)

Let's add to the vibrancy of our News & Escapades by posting images. Tell us of your adventures as you explore bead treasures while vacationing, where perhaps, you happened upon a quaint shop tucked away in the corner of a street market. Share thoughts and ideas about bead shows you attend or hope to attend. Classes you take or suggestions for classes you hope to take. Find a carpool buddy or hotel roomie for your next beading road trip....

The more our community grows, the more opportunities we have to bring in well known designers we have come to know through books and large North American shows. And on the flip side, for our amazing designers to gain greater recognition and be sought after to teach and show elsewhere!

Bead Heaven in Our New Bead Haven

Well, it sure has been awhile since I last posted! Many wonderful changes have occurred since then. The most notable and exciting development is our brand new location in Calgary's downtown beltline neighbourhood of Victoria Crossing. 

Growing into a new store is always a challenge, but the added space is fabulous and we now have the opportunity to bring in new beading delights and offer classes in a spacious setting. We are pretty darn elated and can't wait to share our new home with you.

Also, the Fraser Valley Bead Show just wrapped up and as always, Barrie hosted a fabulous event for exhibitors and visitors alike. Class offerings were well received and by all accounts, everyone came away pleased and already looking forward to the Spring show! It's always a treat to connect with other stores from across the country to share ideas and enthusiasm. 

Consider taking a 'beading get away' in the Spring and come join us at the next show...

B-dekk exists through the collective efforts of many fun people, who have created a vibrant space to facilitate you taking your place within the jewellery making community. 


Our goal is to always have outrageous fun uniting the store with talented designers, instructors, published jewellery makers, long time customers and new one's with a fresh perspective all on the same level. Good ideas and excitement win out as we manifest our collective vision.
